DHAKA: Finance Minister AMA Muhith on Saturday claimed that the prevailing crisis would be solved, if BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia is removed from politics.

The minister made the observation as chief guest at a seminar at Nabab Nawab Ali Senate Bhaban of Dhaka University in the city.

He also observed that BNP proved their ignorance by ignoring the January 5 national elections.

They (BNP) have recently declared war against the nation to pay for their ignorance, he added.

The ruling Awami League lawmaker also said that Khaleda Zia’s removal from politics can resolve the political crises and it is now the burning issue in the country.

All problems will be solved when BNP chief’s followers will understand this matter, Muhith opined.

He further said that the political movements in the name of hartal and blockade are going against the interest of the nation.

Prime Minster Sheikh Hasina’s political advisor HT Imam, primary and mass education minister Mostafizur Rahman, National University vice-chancellor Professor Dr Harun-or-Rashid and Dhaka University former VC professor SMA Faiz, among others, were present at the seminar, chaired by DUCSU former vice-president Mahfuza Khanam.
