JESSORE: Police, in nightlong drives, arrested 56 people including a Jamaat-e-Islami activist from eight upazilas of the district till Thursday morning.

District Police Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Reshma Sharmin confirmed the matter to banglanews.

She said the law enforcers conducted several drives in the upazilas from Wednesday night to Thursday morning and arrested the people.

They will be produces before the court as all of them are accused in several cases, the ASP added.
