DHAKA: A court here placed BNP joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on a two-day fresh remand in a case filed with Mirpur Thana under Special Power Act.

Metropolitan Magistrate Shamsul Arefin passed the order at Wednesday noon in response to 7-day remand plea of Sub-Inspector (SI) Rafiqul Islam of Mirpur Thana and also investigation officer of the case.

Earlier on February 1, Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested the senior BNP leader.
