Ex-Shibir man dies in clash with cops

RANGPUR: A former Chhatra Shibir leader was killed during a clash with law enforcers in Mithapukur early Monday.

The deceased was identified as Nazmul Huda Lablu, 28, son of Nurunnabi Shah. He was former president of Mithapukur Shibir, also president of upazila workers welfare association.

Confirming the matter to banglanews, Officer-in-Charge of DB police Shariful Islam said, blockaders locked into clash with police when they tried to block road putting wood logs at 3:30am.

Blockaders hurled petrol bombs and cocktails at police. For defense police fired gun shoots that left Lablu injured.

He was rushed to hospital where doctor declared him dead and police recovered four fresh petrol bombs, a cocktail, four sharp weapons and a saw from the spot, OC added.
