RAJSHAHI: Police recovered the bullet-hit body of a Chhatra Shibir activist from Nowdapara Bypass area under Shah Makhdum Thana of the city Monday morning.

The deceased was identified as Shahidul Islam, 26, son of Jalal Uddin of Bharalipara area of Shah Makhdum Thana.

Ifte Khayer Alam, Assistant Commissioner of District Detective Branch of Police (DB), told banglanews that being informed form locals, a team of police from Shah Makhdum Thana rushed in and recovered the bullet-hit body in Nowdapara Bypass area in the morning.

On the other hand, Chhrata Shibir, in a press release sent on Sunday afternoon, claimed that police detained Shaheedul Islam from Islam Bank Medical College Hospital around 2:00am Saturday.
