Case filed for shooting from Khaleda’s motorcade

DHAKA: A local Awami League (AL) leader filed an attempt to murder case against 100 persons including Chairperson’s Security Force (CSF) personnel, with Tejgaon Police Station on charge of opening fire from Khaleda Zia’s motorcade at Karwan Bazar area aiming him.

Confirming the matter, Assistant Sub-Inspector of Tejgaon Thana Shahjalal told banglanews AL president of Ward-26 of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Zahirul Haque Zillu filed the law suit Monday night.

The case statement said around 5:45pm on Monday (April 20), local AL, Chhatra League and Jubo League activists were campaigning for DNCC mayoral candidate Anisul Haque and councilor candidate for Ward-26 Shamim Hasan.

BNP Chairperson’s motorcade and they reached in front of Petrobangla Tower at Karwan Bazar at the same time.

During the time, there was a heated debate between the supporters of two parties as they (BNP supporters) talked excitedly in favour of another DNCC mayoral candidate Tabith Awal.

In this situation, BNP Chairperson’s Security Forces fired six rounds of bullet aiming him (Zahirul Haque Zillu) but he escaped as the bullets missed the target.

Meanwhile, BNP alleged that ruling AL activists attacked the motorcade of Khaleda Zia during campaigning for DNCC mayoral candidate Tabith Awal at Karwan Bazar area in city Monday afternoon.
