DHAKA: BNP-backed mayoral candidate Tabith Awal filed four allegations to Election Commission (EC) against his opponent AL-backed Anisul Haque for obstructing them during campaign of Dhaka North City Corporation Election (DNCC).

Tabith faxed the written statement to Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmed on Tuesday noon.

CEC’s personal secretary Mazharul Islam confirmed the matter to banglanews.

He said Tabith filled the charges of breaking the microphone, tearing election posters, attack on BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia’s motorcade and policy harassment upon leaders and activists during campaign.
