DHAKA: Ruling Awami League-supported mayoral candidate for Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Anisul Haque on Sunday commented that only people can elect him in the upcoming polls.

‘If you elect me I will come back to you,’ he assured.

Anisul, also a prominent business leader, made the comment at a poll campaign in city’s Mohakhali area on the day.

‘I want to work for people. I hope you will allow me to come back to you’, he reiterated.

Mentioning his previous career, the mayoral candidate said, ‘Wherever I worked I made development for the respective organizations and earned fame’.

‘If you elect me I will develop the capital city.’

He further said, ‘It is my fortune that the premier has lent her support to me’.

Former commerce minister Colonel (retd.) Faruk Khan MP and former foreign minister Dr Dipu Moni, among others, were present at the campaign, chaired by transport leader Khandaker Enayatullah.
