DHAKA: BNP acting Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir left Dhaka for Singapore for better treatment late on Sunday.

He left Hazrat Shahjalal (R) International Airport by a flight of Singapore Airlines around 11:58pm, days after he was released on bail after six months in jail.

BNP chairperson’s press wing officer Shairul Kabir Khan confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Family sources said wife Rahat Ara Begum accompanied Fakhrul during the tour.

On July 14, Fakhrul was released on bail from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) prison cell.

On January 6, he was arrested from the Jatiya Press Club premises and then, was shown arrested in several cases.
