Khaleda’s murder case report submission deferred BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia

DHAKA: The report submission date has been deferred till October 13 in the case filed against BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia and its three leaders in connection with killing 42 people during the hartal-blockade.
 
Monday (July 27) was scheduled for the submission of the report.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Maruf Hossain re-fixed the date for forth time as officer-in-charge of Gulshan Thana did not submit the report on the day.
   
The other accused are – BNP vice-chairman Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury, its standing committee member Rafiqul Islam Mia, and BNP chairperson’s adviser and also former vice-chancellor of Dhaka University Emajuddin Ahmed.

Earlier on February 2, Bangladesh Jananetri Parishad president AB Siddique filed the murder case.
 
On the day, a Dhaka metropolitan magistrate court took into its cognizance the case filed against the four accused and ordered Gulshan Thana to investigate the killings.

The BNP-led 20-party alliance enforced nonstop blockade and sporadic hartals from January 5 to February 1, killing 42 people by burning and injuring many others.
