DHAKA:  A Dhaka court Wednesday placed Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) president Rajib Ahsan on eight-day police remand in six sabotage cases.

Metropolitan magistrate Shamsul Arefin granted the remand plea for police interrogation.

Earlier in the day, the JCD president was produced before the Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court around 11:00am with 60-day remand plea.

Rajib’s lawyer Sana Ullah Mia confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Police detained form from Lebukhali Ferry Ghat of Barisal highway on Sunday.

Later, he was shown arrested in two cases of Paltan Thana and one each in Shahbagh and Motijheel Thanas.
