DHAKA: War criminal BNP leader Salauddin Quader Chowdhury has no chance of acquittal after reviewing the appeal verdict of Supreme Court.

Law minister Anisul Haque made the remark on Wednesday few hours after the Supreme Court upheld the death penalty to Salauddin Quader Chowdhury for committing crimes against humanity during Liberation War in 1971.

The family members of the victims of SQ’s torture and murder now can feel relaxed, so do the countrymen, he added.

On October 29 of 2013, opposition BNP lawmaker SQ Chowdhury appealed against his death sentence given by International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-1 for his involvement with war crimes during 1971.

On October 1, Justice ATM Fazle Kabir led three member of ICT-1 awarded death sentence to Salahuddin Quader Chowdhury who was found guilty of nine charges out of 23 allegations.
