BNP leaders sign in Dr Kalam condolence book in city

DHAKA: BNP leaders signed in the condolence book opened for the death of former President of India Dr APJ Abdul Kalam at High Commission of India in city’s Gulshan area Wednesday.

A group, led by BNP standing committee member Dr Abdul Moin Khan, signed in the book at noon.

BNP standing committee member Lieutenant General (retd) Mahbubur Rahman and BNP chairperson’s adviser Sabih Uddin Ahmed also singed in the book.

After the signing, Dr Moin Khan told journalist that APJ Abdul Kalam proved his talent.

However, the former president widely coined as India’s ‘missile-man’ and ‘people’s president’ collapsed during delivering a lecture at Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in Shilong of Meghalaya state and suffered cardiac arrest on July 27.

He was rushed to a hospital, where he died at the age of 83.

Dr Kalam’s funeral will be held on July 29 in Tamil Nadu.
