COMILLA: A local unit of Jubo League leader was killed in a road accident in Burichang upazila of Comilla district on Monday.

The deceased was identified as Mohammad Shakil Ahammed (38), son of Abdur Rashid Khan of the upazila.

Locals said that Shakil was returning home from Comilla in the morning by a motorcycle.

A passenger bus of Gomati Service rammed into Shakil, leaving him critically injured. He was rushed to Comilla Medical College and Hospital, he added.

Later, he succumbed to his injures at Chandina on his way to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH).

Burichang Thana officer-in-charge (OC) Uttam Kumar Barua confirmed the matter to banglanews.
