DHAKA: A city court on Sunday issued an arrest warrant against BNP senior vice-chairman Tarique Rahman in the case for propagation against the state.
Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court of Lutfar Rahman Shishir passed the order, taking the investigation report of the case into cognizance.
On October 19 last year, Bangabandhu Foundation president Abul Malek alias Mashiur Malek filed the case against Tarique Rahman bringing allegation of propagation against the state.
Tarique while addressing a discussion in East London in the UK on September 29 last year termed Ziaur Rahman is the first President of Bangladesh that was false and premeditated.
“Terming Bangabandhu as ‘friend of Pakistan’ is the similar to distortion of the Bangladesh’s war of independence,” the plaintiff of case added.
