The health of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, who is undergoing treatment at a London clinic, has deteriorated slightly.

Her condition suddenly worsened on Wednesday night.

A member of her medical board said on Friday, "Madam (Khaleda Zia) has come to London after seven years. She had not received treatment at this hospital before. She was under significant pressure in her home country. In such circumstances, it takes time to adapt to a new environment, especially with London's cold weather."

He added that Khaleda Zia’s health has not been stable for the past two days, with some key parameters changing and new heart complications emerging.

"The medical board is making every effort to manage her condition and improve her physical capacity," he said.

According to the doctor, treatment takes time, as all medical procedures must be followed carefully. "Just because she is at this clinic doesn't mean everything will happen immediately. Madam also wishes to visit her son's house, and staying in a hospital bed for a long time is challenging."

Earlier, during a briefing outside the London clinic on Thursday, Khaleda Zia's personal physician, Professor Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain, said that the medical board would decide on a possible liver transplant only after receiving all of her health test reports.

"This decision will be made after assessing the physical risks involved," he said.
