GAIBANDHA: A district court on Sunday granted interim bail to Member of Parliament (MP) Manjurul Islam Liton in case for attempting to murder a child Sourav by shooting.

Gaibandha additional chief judicial magistrate Mainul Hasan Yusuf passed the order at 11:45am.

The ruling Awami League lawmaker got the bail until the end of 8th session of 10th Jatiya Sangsad (JS) that scheduled to begin Sunday afternoon.

Earlier on October 2, Gaibandha-1 constituency MP Liton shot a minor boy Sourav by his licensed pistol.

Later, the boy’s father filed an attempt to murder case against Liton with Sundarganj Thana of Gaibandha district.

Moreover, one Hafizar Rahman of Sarbananda Union of Sundarganj upazila filed a case against the MP in allegation of vandalism and looting.
