DHAKA: BNP standing committee member Dr Abdul Moin Khan said if the municipality election result reflects the casting of the voters and it does not determined by anyone’s order, the party will accept it.
He came up with this assertion while speaking to the media after their meeting with Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmad at his office in city Tuesday afternoon.
According to hi, Election Commission (EC) will be benefited if it can ensure a free and fair election.
Moreover, they will regain the trust of people, he added.
Moin Khan alleged that at least three persons were killed and more than 300 people are in hospitals.
‘The law enforcers detained over 500 BNP leaders and workers within six weeks. The BNP candidate of Raipur area in Laxmipur district was threatened to withdraw from the polls. Around 90 percent election violence took place against BNP leaders and activists.’
However, he informed the CEC about the matter and requested him to take legal action against the culprits.
BNP joint secretary general Barrister Mahbub Uddin Khokon, chairperson’s advisor Abdul Halim and Captain (retd) Sujauddin, among others, were present in the meeting.
