DHAKA: Ruling Awami League (AL) has raised a complaint against Election Commission (EC) and accused it of being unfair.

AL’s joint general secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif made this assertion while talking to the journalists at EC secretariat in city on Tuesday (December 29).

Earlier, a delegation from AL met Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmad.

Hanif also opined that people are curious about the municipal election as it is going to be held under the party symbols.
 
“The election will be free, fair and peaceful,” he expected.

“But there have been incidents of attacks on AL members in several poll areas.”

He also alleged that EC has failed to maintain a fair and neutral position.
