JHENAIDAH: Police arrested six activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing Islami Chhatra Shibir in a sabotage case in the district.

The law enforcers conducted drives at three upazilas of the district from Wednesday night to Thursday morning (July 28).

Jhenaidah additional police super (ASP) Azbahar Ali Sheikh informed banglanews that the Jamaat-Shibir men were arrested during police drives in several upazilas to prevent any subversive incident.

Among the arrestees three Shibir activists were nabbed from Shailkupa upazila and other three Jamaat men were detained from Kotchandpur and Harinakundu upazilas.

The arrestees will be sent to the court after interrogation, he added.
