DHAKA: A city court on Saturday (August 20) remanded 18 activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and its student organization Islami Chhatra Shibir for different terms.
Islamic International School principal was also among the remand awardees.
The court of Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Judge passed the order in the afternoon in response to a 10-day remand plea by police.
Among them, 16 accused are remanded for two days and the rest was given three days.
Earlier on Friday (August 19), police detained the members of Jamaat and Shibir from Merul Badda area of the city for allegedly conducting secrete meeting.
