RAJSHAHI: Police detained 40 people including 10 activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wings Islami Chhatra Shibir in an overnight drives in several areas of the district on Tuesday (September 6).

Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) spokesperson and senior assistant commissioner of Rajpara zone Ifte Khayer Alam confirmed the matter to Banglanews on Tuesday noon (September 6).

According to him, the law enforcers arrested 13 from Boalia Model Thana, seven from Rajpara Thana, 17 from Matihar Thana, two from Shah Makhdum while Detective Branch of police (DB) detained a person.

He further said the detainees were sent to jail after interrogation.
