Rizvi gets bail in 5 violence cases

DHAKA: The High Court has granted a six-month bail to BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi in five violence cases.

However, he has to remain behind bars in another case.

A bench of justice Habibul Gani and justice Akram Hossain granted the bail after bail plea hearing on Wednesday (September 07).

Zainul Abedin along with Sagir Hossain Liyon stood for the BNP leader.

Earlier on August 18, Rizvi surrendered to Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) court and pleaded for bail in five violence cases.

But the court sent him to jail denying the bail petition. He has been staying in jail since then.
