ICT accepts M’singh 8 razakars’ case

DHAKA: International Crime Tribunal (ICT) took cognizance the case against eight ‘rajakars’ from Mymensing’s Muktagachha Thana for their crimes against humanity during the Liberation War in 1971.

A three-member ICT bench led by Justice Anwarul Haque took the case into cognizance on Monday (October 17) and fixed December 13 for hearing.

Four of the accused – M Belayet Hossain, M Nasir Uddin, M Ismail and Kazi Badruzzaman – are fugitive while other four – Rezaul Karim, ABM Yunus Ali Moulvi, M Yunus Ali and M Omar Farukh – have been arrested.

Prosecutor Abul Kalam conducted the hearing on behalf of the state.

The eight persons are accused of eight crimes including murder, genocide, torching, looting and kidnapping.
