KUSTHIA: Four members of the banned Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) were arrested over the murder case of homeopathic doctor Dr. Sanaur Rahman in Kushtia.

The arrestees are identified as Azizul, Saiful, Joynal and Saizuddin.

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Khulna Range SM Moniruzzaman said this at a press briefing in Kushtia Superintendent of Police’s (SP) office on Monday (October 31).

He said the law enforcers arrested Azizul and Saiful in connection of homeopathic doctor Sanaur Rahman murder and a bomb blast incident while a school boy Naimul Islam was killed.

On their information, police conducted a drive in Kaburhat area where the mastermind of the murder, JMB regional commander Kulu Molla, was killed in a gunfight early Monday. Later, they arrested Azizul and Joynal from the spot.

However, four other JMB members involved in the murder are fugitive.

On May 20, Dr. Sanaur Rahman was killed in an attack while his friend, Islamic University teacher Saifuzzaman sustained serious injuries.

Meanwhile, schoolboy Naimul was killed in explosion of a bomb left by the killers while fleeing the spot.
