DHAKA: Ruling Awami League (AL) General Secretary Obaidul Quader said that the proposals of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia are pointless and hollow.

The senior leader made the assertion at AL Chairperson’s Dhanmondi political office on Friday (November 18) in response to Khaleda’s speech delivered at a press conference in city’s Westin hotel on the same day.

At the Press conference, Khaleda Zia has called for a new Election Commission (EC) for the upcoming general election with the consensus of all parties.  

“Khaleda has proved with her statement that she has no confident on people. According to the constitution, the Election Commission (EC) is supposed to form by the President and he will take necessary initiatives to do that.”

AL advisory council member advocate Yusuf Hussain Humayun, joint general secretaries Mahbubul Alam Hanif and Abdur Rahman, organizing secretaries BM Mozammel Haque and Abu Syeed Al-Mahmud Shawpan were also present at the press conference.
