MOULAVIBAZAR: A local leader of Jamaat-e-Islami was arrested from Rajnagar Upazila of the district on Saturday in a case assaulting police.

He was identified as Nazrul Islam, Nayeb-e-Ameer of the Rajnagar upazila unit of Jamaat, also a school teacher and son of Jaynal Abedin in the area.

Police sources said he was nabbed at 12 noon from Rajnagar area for his alleged involvement in assaulting police on April 14.

Rajnagar police station Officer-in-Charge M Kamrul Hasan confirmed the matter to banglanews.
