DHAKA: Opposition BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Monday categorically said the government should find out a path for better exit.
“The time of the government is over. You should not make your farewell outrageous one by acting non democratic activities,” the BNP leader said indicating the government.
The spokesperson for the party came up with the assertion while addressing a rally organized by Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal at city’s Suhrawardy Udyan to mark 6th anniversary of release of BNP senior vice-chairman Tarique Rahman.
Mirza Fakhrul also criticized the government as Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) didn’t give permission for the rally and recent arrests of JCD leader-activists during procession through the rally.
He said, “We have to initiate a new phase of politics in Bangladesh and Tarique Rahman is the pioneer one on the path.”
He also advised JCD activists to prepare themselves as a vanguard for upcoming movements.
Senior BNP leaders also addressed the programme chaired by JCD President Abdul Kader Bhuiyan Jewel.
