DHAKA: Communications Minister Obaidul Quader on Monday claimed that he is working in bid to ease sufferings of people.

The minister came up with the assertion while talking to journalists after visiting traffic conditions in Babubazar Bridge area in the city.

He said, “I have been working to ease the sufferings of people not for the comfort as per taken the responsibility of the ministry for very petite period.”

The ruling Awami League lawmaker said, “We have taken initiatives to reduce hassles of home-bound people ahead of Eid-ul-Azha and Durga puja.”

Obaidul Quader said, “Punitive measures will be taken if there is any irregularity in transportation.”
