The Netherlands have triumphed over Bangladesh by 87 runs in the 28th match of the ICC Men's ODI World Cup 2023 at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
While defending a total of 230, the Dutch side bowled out Bangladesh for 142. This marks the second win for Scott Edwards and his team in this World Cup, having previously defeated South Africa by 38 runs.
Earlier, the Netherlands won the toss and chose to bat first. The Dutch team didn't get off to a great start, losing two wickets in the opening three overs.
However, Wesley Barresi and Colin Ackermann steadied the innings with a 59-run partnership before Barresi was dismissed by Mustafizur Rahman.
Barresi scored 41 runs from 41 balls, including 8 fours. Ackermann managed to contribute only 18 runs from 33 balls.
Netherlands skipper Scott Edwards accumulated 68 runs from 89 balls, hitting six fours.
The Dutch team posted a total of 229 runs in their allotted 50 overs while losing wickets.
The Tigers' captain, Shakib Al Hasan, proved to be the most economical bowler, conceding only 37 runs in 10 overs and claiming one wicket.
