DHAKA: Bayern Munich became the first German side to win the Club World Cup after a 2-0 win over Raja Casablanca in Marrakesh.

Goals from Dante and Thiago gave the Bundesliga, Champions League and German Cup winners a fourth major trophy of 2013.

Pep Guardiola’s side were huge favorites to beat Raja, who stunned Atletico Mineiro of Brazil in the semi-finals.

The Germans did not disappoint, dominating possession despite playing well within themselves, although they made several errors which should have been punished.

Defender Dante opened the scoring when he was played onside following a corner, the Brazilian given the freedom of the box to thrash the ball into the roof of the net.

Spain midfielder Thiago then doubled the advantage with a rasping finish after good play from David Alaba.
