LONDON, July 5, 2010 (AFP) - Bangladesh were boosted ahead of the first of three one-day internationals against England on Thursday after a 141-run success against a makeshift Middlesex side at Lord`s on Monday.

Bangladesh posted 301 for seven, then dismissed the hosts for just 160 with 10 overs to spare.

The Panthers never recovered from a miserable start when opener John Simpson dragged the sixth ball of the innings onto his leg stump.

Three overs later, Jackson Thompson miscued an attempted pull to mid-on against Shafiul Islam and, at 12 for two, Middlesex were already in trouble.
Owais Shah and Dawid Malan steadied the ship with a third-wicket partnership of 87 in 17 overs, but the required run rate soon reached seven an over.

Their stand ended when Malan was sent back by Shah and was run out by Mahmudullah`s throw to the non-striker`s end.

Shah remained to post a 62-ball half-century, but was lbw to Shakib Al Hasan for 61. The game was as good as over when home captain Neil Dexter clipped Abdur Razzak into the hands of mid-on.

Tamim, who scored a Test century here against England in May, hit a 20-ball cameo worth 28 which ended when he missed a quick, full delivery from Robbie Williams and lost his off stump.

Junaid Siddique picked out Toby Roland-Jones at mid-on, bringing together Imrul Kayes (77) and Jahurul Islam (88) for the match-defining stand.

The third-wicket pair added 143 in 25 overs forcing Dexter to use eight bowlers in a bid to stem the flow of runs.

Jahurul was first to his 50 from 42 balls with six boundaries while Kayes followed him to the landmark in from 67 balls with four fours and two sixes.

Kayes was first to go when, chasing down the pitch to Roland-Jones, he sliced the ball to Tom Smith at backward point.

Five overs later and with the Bangladesh score on 222, Jahurul missed out on his century when he too skipped down the wicket only to clip a comfortable catch to long-on.

The Bangladesh innings unravelled thereafter with Danny Evans claiming three for 51 and Williams two for 60.
