Bangladesh have slipped to 10th place in the ICC Men's T20I team rankings following back-to-back defeats against Pakistan in the ongoing three-match series in Lahore.
The Tigers, who began the series ranked ninth, fell one spot after a comprehensive 57-run loss in the second T20I on Friday.
The latest rankings update now places Bangladesh below Afghanistan, with their rating dropping from 225 to 220 points.
Afghanistan have moved up to ninth with 223 points, while Ireland trail Bangladesh in 11th place with 202.
This downturn in T20I performance comes amid a broader slump across formats. Bangladesh are now ranked 10th in both T20Is and ODIs.
Earlier this month, they also dropped to 10th in the ODI rankings following a string of disappointing results. In Tests, Bangladesh currently sit at ninth.
Pakistan, who secured the T20I series victory with one match still to play, remain eighth in the T20 rankings but have improved their rating to 229.
The series also brought positive news for the UAE, whose recent surprise series win against Bangladesh saw their rating climb to 183, lifting them to 15th position.
India, the reigning T20 World Champions, continue to lead the rankings with 271 points, followed by Australia (262), England (254), New Zealand (249), and West Indies (246). South Africa (245) and Sri Lanka (241) round out the top seven.
Bangladesh once held a much stronger standing in T20Is. In 2012, following a series win over Ireland, the Tigers climbed to a career-high fourth in the rankings — briefly surpassing cricketing heavyweights such as India, Pakistan, Australia, and New Zealand.
