India beat Bangladesh

DHAKA: Visiting India defeated host Bangladesh in the rain-hit One Day International match by seven wickets at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka on Sunday.

Indian batsmen AM Rahane scored 64 runs while RV Uthappa scored 50.

Earlier, Bangladesh scored 272 runs by losing nine wickets in the stipulated overs. 

Mushfiqur Rahim, Shakib Al Hasan, and Anamul Haque scored 59, 52 and 44 runs respectively. 

UT Yadav bagged three wickets while A Mishra and Parvez Rasool got two wickets each.

Earlier, Bangladesh won the toss and decided to bat first in the first ODI match against visiting India. 

Indian cricket team, led by Suresh Raina, arrived Dhaka on a weeklong tour to play a three matches ODI series against Bangladesh on Friday.  

The two others one day matches will be held on June 17 and 19 at the same venue.
