DHAKA: The Walton Media Cup Badminton Tournament-2015 is set to kick off in Shaheed Suhrawardy Indoor Stadium of the city’s Mirpur on Sunday.

A total of 80 shuttlers from 20 different media houses are taking part in the tournament, which is a knockout game with a total of Tk 1 lakh prize money.

Players will compete in five categories - men’s single, women’s single, men’s double, women’s double and mixed doubles.

A press conference was held unveiling the details about the tournament at the conference room of Bangabandhu National Stadium on Saturday.

Walton’s parent company RB Group Additional Director FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Don, officials of the tournament organizer Blackboard and Bangladesh Badminton Federation were present at the conference.

Walton is sponsoring the tournament which will end on January 20.
