DHAKA: Bangladeshi women's team got off to an exhilarating start by beating Pakistan 14-0 in the opening game of the 2018 SAFF U-15 Women's Championship on Thursday (August 9).
In the first half, Bangladeshi players scored 6 goals. Tahura posted double while four others from Maria Manda, Manika Chakma, Akhi Khatun and Shamsunnahar.
After the half time, Shamsunnahar alone posted 5 goals totaling the score to 14 goals against Pakistan’s zero.
With this astonishing victory, Bangladesh team close to semifinals. On the other hand, Indian women’s team beat Sri Lanka by 12-0 in a separate match.
The tournament is hosted by Bhutan from 9–18 of August at Changlimithang Stadium. Six South Asian nations took part.
They are- Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Bhutan, Pakistan and Sri Lanka participated in the championship.
