Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris was charged with drink-driving early Friday morning in London.
Lloris, who captained France to a World Cup championship this summer, was stopped by a routine patrol in Gloucester and failed a roadside breathalyzer, according to the BBC. The 31-year-old is due in court on Sept. 11
Tottenham has started the English Premier League season with two wins and has a critical match against Manchester United on Monday.
Lloris joined Tottenham in 2012 and has played 208 league games for the team. Since 2008, Lloris has appeared 104 times for the French national team, becoming the country's first-choice captain in 2012.
