Hong Kong's left-arm spinner Nadeem Ahmed and seam-bowling all-rounders Haseeb Amjad and Irfan Ahmed have been provisionally suspended for breaching the Anti Corruption Code for a total of 19 counts, the ICC said in a statement on Monday (October 8).

Nine charges have been levelled against Irfan and five each against Nadeem and Haseeb. The allegations relate to "fixing or contriving or otherwise influencing improperly, or being a party to an effort to fix or contrive or otherwise influence improperly, the result, progress, conduct" of matches" and the "failure to disclose full details of any approaches or invitations received to engage in conduct that would amount to a breach of the 2012 Code".

All three are under scrutiny for their alleged involvement in malpractice in Hong Kong's two group games - against Scotland and Canada - at the 2015 World Cup Qualifier, played in January 14. Hong Kong won both matches, beating Scotland by 17 runs and Canada by nine wickets.

Meanwhile, Irfan and Nadeem have also been charged for "one or more matches" at the 2016 ICC World T20, while additionally Irfan has been charged for "one or more matches" at the ICC World T20 Qualifiers, played in July 2015.

The trio has been given a period of two weeks - starting October 8 - to respond to the allegations.
