DHAKA: Rajshahi Kings have set defending champions of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Rangpur Riders 136-run target in their fourth encounter in Mirpur on Sunday (Jan 13).
Wicketkeeper Zakir Hasan’s unbeaten 42 runs off 36 balls helped the team of Mehidy Hasan score 135 runs for eight wickets in their stipulated 20 overs at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
For Riders, Farhad Reza and Mashrafe Mortaza bagged two wickets each while Shafiul Islam and Sohag Gazi picked up one wicket each.
Rangpur Riders captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza won the toss and decided to bowl first against Rajshahi Kings.
Riders won two of their previous four matches, and but they lost to Chittagong Vikings and Dhaka Dynamites while Rajshahi Kings registered only a win beating Khulna Titans in their three previous matches.
