DHAKA: Bangladesh national hockey team former player Md Mohsin has died while undergoing treatment at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Medical University (BSMMU) on Saturday (Mar 2).
He breathed last around 4:30am.
He was 71.
National sports award winning hockey player Mohsin was born in Mahut-tuli of Old Dhaka on Feb 19, 1948.
He played for East Pakistan Hockey Squad in 1967 and 1968.
After the independence, he became part of the national team that made first tour to India.
He also played for Abahoni Ltd Dhaka from 1972 to 1980.
He was appointed Bangladesh national team’s coach in the second Asia Cup in 1985.
In 2009, Mohsin was honored with the national sports in recognition of his contribution.
Bangladesh Hockey Federation expressed profound shock at the death of the veteran sportsman and shared condolences with the bereaved family members.
