DHAKA: The final match of Bangamata U-19 Women's International Gold Cup was cancelled due to the adverse weather caused by cyclonic storm Fani.

Two finalists-- Bangladesh and Laos were declared joint champions in the first edition of the tournament.

Bangladesh and Laos U-19 teams were scheduled to lock horns in the final match at Bangabandhu National Stadium at 6pm Friday (May 3).

Afterwards, Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) cancelled the match, considering possible risks due to Fani.

BFF Senior Vice-President Abdus Salam Murshedy confirmed the declaration.

Bangladesh U-19 team defeated UAE 2-0 and Kyrgyzstan 2-1 in group phase.

In the semifinals, they beat Mongolia 3-0 to reach the final.
