A very strong Australia is announcing intentions very strong on its Hexa mission getting past Lankan challenge with ease and comfort. They beat them by 5 wickets in a match where most of their bowlers and batsmen had good practices.

Against multifaceted Australian attack Sri Lanka produced a below par score 239/8 in allotted overs. Australia cruised past the target scoring 241/5 in 44.5 overs.  Australia has won both their warm up matches. They won a tight match against host England earlier. Sri Lanka lost both the warm up match losing earlier to South Africa.

Sri Lanka batted first and against very tight and purpose Lankan batsmen never really got going. Australia used as many as 8 bowlers. Top and middle order batsmen had starts, none but Thrimanne (56) and de Silva (42) could produce anything substantial. A soft target of 240 was never going to test Australians. 

Australian batsmen had useful batting practice with inform Khawaja looking in prime form with 89, Maxwell (36), Marsh (34) and Stoinis (32) had useful time in the middle. Australia cantered home with 5.5 overs to spare. The Kangaroos are looking good for a crack to the championship once again. If they do that will their record sixth in the 12th edition of the world cup.
