Rain delays Bangladesh-Sri Lanka match

DHAKA:  Rain delayed toss of the 16th match of ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka at County Ground, Bristol on Tuesday (June 11).

The match was scheduled to begin at 3:30 pm (Bangladesh Time).

Bangladesh is eying to win the today’s match after a massive defeat to hosts England and a two-wicket loss to New Zealand after wining their World Cup opener against South Africa.

Sri Lanka is also desperate to get any sort of today’s match after a loss to New Zealand and a narrow win over Afghanistan.

Moreover, Sri Lanka’s match with Pakistan was washed out on June 7, without a ball bowled.

Due to thigh injury, Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is doubt to play the match against Sri Lanka.

Shakib has been Bangladesh's best batsman in the World Cup so far, scoring two fifties apart from the century against England.

Local weather office says inclement weather threatens may dominate Tuesday’s match between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.
