CHATTOGRAM: Slow left-arm orthodox bowler Taijul Islam has become the third Bangladeshi to scalp 100 Test wickets as he completed the milestone after dismissing Afghanistan's Ihsanulah Janat in the one-off Test in Chattogram Thursday (September 5).
It was Taijul's 25th playing Test.
The record was earlier held by Bangladesh Test Skipper Shakib Al Hasan and star spinner Mohammad Rafique.
Shakib reached the milestone of fastest 100 wickets off 28 Tests and still holding the record of highest wicket taker in the long format with 205 off 55 Tests.
Rafique was first Bangladeshi bowler to bag 100 Test wickets off 33 Tests.
However, the one-off Test against visiting Afghanistan started in the morning in Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram.
