Dream XI IPL 2020
4th Match: Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) Played at Sarjah September 22
Rajasthan Royals 216/7 (SV Samson 74, SPD Smith 69, JC Archer 27*, SM Curran 3/33) Beat Chennai Super Kings 200/6 (Faf du Plessis 72, SR Watson 33, MS Dhoni 29*, R Tewatia 3/37) by 16 Runs
Player Of The Match: Sanju Samson.

A much better organized Rajasthan Royals beat Chennai Super Kings by 16 runs in the 4th match of Dream XI of IPL 2020. Vintage Sanju Samson appearing as tormentor blasted 74 in only 32 deliveries, master batsman Steve Smith recovering from head injury sustained during practice session of Australian team in England produced a characteristic 69. Their dynamic 121 runs second wicket partnership led Rajasthan Royals posting an impressive 216/7. CSK despite of brilliant 72 from Faf du Plessis and late moment burst of unbeaten 29 of 17 deliveries from MS Dhoni could reach 200/6. RR winning by 16 runs made an auspicious start to IPL 2020.

The wicket was flat, much flatter than wickets at Abu Dhavi and Dubai.  Keeping with flow of the IPL 2020 MSD winning the toss inserted RR in to bat. Wicket offered very little assistance to any bowler pace or spin. Chahar could deliver early blow removing RR opener Jaiswal. Young Sanju then produced a Tsunami innings of wonderful stroke play. His insatiable appetite for runs exhibited rare stoke play. He blasted as many as 9 sixes and 1 boundary in his 32 balls 74. Together with smart Steve Smith (69 Runs in 47 deliveries) the second wicket partnership of 121 in 9.2 overs set a solid foundation for RR reaching a very impressive 216/7. JC Archer at death overs stuck 4 huge sixes in his 8 balls unbeaten 27. None but Sam Curran (3/33) of CSK bowlers could stem the flow of runs of RR. 218 is always a steep target in any T20 match anywhere. Two leading spinners Jadeja and Chawla together in 8 overs managed taking only 1 wicket giving away 99 runs.

It required a substantial opening stand and at least two substantial partnership for CSK chasing successfully and overhauling the huge 218 victory target. Vijay (21) and Watson (33) started well racing to 54 by the 7th over. But they failed to continue. Gopal and leggie Tewatia put the brake removing both in quick succession. Tewatia went on taking two more wickets Curran and Gaikwad. That stalled CSK momentum. Though Faf-du Plesiss looked dynamic. yet wickets tumbling at the other end made his monumental efforts ( 72 in 37 deliveries ) looking like ploughing in the sand. It was curious why taking up the challenge why Dhoni did bat as low at 7.  When he came it was already too late. His hat trick of sixes in the last over could only give some entertainment. The match was lost by then. CSK could reach 200/6 and there by lost by 16 runs.
