Celebrated Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan one very special innings of unbeaten 101 for rescuing his team DC from the jaw of defeat to a spectacular win by 5 wickets against CSK. 21 runs were scored in the 5 balls of the last over to scamper home from a position of 5/159 in 18.1 over chasing a target of 180. CSK batting first scored 179/4. Dhawan carried his bat through scoring unbeaten 101 in 58 deliveries that earned him player of the match. DC with 12 points from 9 matches stays at the top of the table. 

When CSK scored 179/4 batting first many thought it was a good enough score for a win. F du Plessis (58), AT Rayadu (45) and SR Watson (36) contributed. If any of the three innings could go deeper score could be 200 plus. But anyway with a good enough bowling attack CSK kept DC batsmen on check till 15.4 overs restricting the score to 4/137. 

DC required scoring 43 in 4.2 overs. Dhawan was at the wicket. The score was 164/5 when the last over started. Suddenly Vim and Arjun dawned upon Dhawan. 21 runs were smacked in 5 balls of the last over taking DC soaring above CSK. A brilliant win which will haunt CSK for a long time.  Fortune favors the brave there is that old saying. Yes, DC was fortunate yesterday. Dhawan’s brilliant innings of 101 in 58 deliveries contained 14 gorgeous strokes across the fence along the carpet and one over and across. One could bet on ABD or CHG.  They are universal vendors of power cricket. But it was Indian’s own son doing that.
