South Africa defeated West Indies by eight wickets in their Super 12 match of the ICC T20 World Cup in Dubai on Tuesday.

In the match being played in Sharjah, South Africa’s captain Temba Bauma won the toss and elected to field. 

being invited, West Indies scored 143 runs for eight wickets in the Group 1 match.

For West Indies, Lindell Siemens (16), Nicholas Puran (12), Chris Gayle (12), Andre Russell (5) and Shimron Hitmeer (1) lost wickets.

In reply, South Africa reached the target of 144 runs for two wickets with ten balls to spare. 

Aiden Markram took the highest 51 runs off 43 balls, Rassie van der Dussen not out 43 off 51 balls and Reeza Hendricks got 39 runs off 30 balls.

However, Anrich Arno Nortje was made player of the match.
