South Arfica VS West Indies Played in Dubai on 26 October 2021
South Africa 144/2 in 18.2 Overs (Aiden Markram 51*, Rassie vander Dussen 43*, Reza Hendricks 39)
West Indies 143 /8 (Elvin Lewis 56, Keiron Pollard 26, Lendl Simmons 16, Dwaine Pretoris 3/17, Keshav Mahraj 2/24, Arich Nortje 1/14)
Player of The Match: Anrich Nortje

The reigning T20 Champions West Indies was once again swept away by South Africa in a lopsided match losing by 8 wickets. They were blown away by England in the first match. Their mission 2021 is all but over. On the other hand, South Africa winning big against West Indies kept their opportunity alive recovering from the defat by Australia in the first match.

Earlier on the day Quinton de Kock withdrew from the fixture refusing to perform "BLACK LIVES MATTER" ritual. The South Africa players were” surprised and taken aback" by Quinton de Kock’s refusal to take a knee and then withdraw from the fixture against West Indies. No reasons for his such attitude was let known. QD Kock is expected to make a statement soon.

Meanwhile the pathetically poor form of West Indies countries. Back-to-back two matches Caribbean artillery did not fire. They were crashed by English spinners in their first match with Adil Rashid and Moeen Ali teasing them. Yesterday apart from Elvin Lewis (56 in 35 deliveries) and Keiron Pollard 26 none of the big guns could deal with the probing protean attack. Dwaine Pretorius 3/17, Keshav Maharaj 2/17 did most of the damage. Anrich Nortje bowling 4 overs for 14 runs strangled them. Lendl Simmons wasted 35 deliveries scoring 16 runs at the top made it extremely challenging for the later order batsmen to recover. Self-declared Universe Boss CH Gayle looked pretty ordinary. West Indies could produce only 143/8 in allotted overs.

South Africa cruised to victory scoring 144/2 in 18.2 overs. Rezza Hendicks (39) replacing Quniton De Kock as opener set up a 57 runs second wicket partnership with Aiden Markaram (51*). Markram and Rassie vander Dussen (43*) adding 83 runs in the unfinished 3rd wicket partnership registered a big win by 8 wickets.

Perhaps the loss signaled exit of West Indies from 2021 T20 World Cup mission. However, the win by South Africa made the group opportunities open. Two of the four England, Australia, SriLanka and Bangladesh have opportunities now. The two positions are up for the grab.
