Jewellers have reduced gold prices by Tk1,481, bringing the cost of one bhori (11.664 grams) to Tk1,37,227 in the local market. This drop comes following a decrease in tariffs on pure gold.
The Bangladesh Jeweller’s Association (BAJUS) Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring made this decision in a meeting held on Sunday.
According to a press release signed by committee chairman Masudur Rahman, the price of 22-carat gold is now Tk11,765 per gram, while 21-carat gold costs Tk11,271 per gram. The price of 18-carat gold has been set at Tk9,627 per gram, and traditional gold is priced at Tk7,899 per gram.
The new prices will take effect from Monday.
However, silver prices remain unchanged. The cost of 22-carat silver is Tk221 per gram, 21-carat silver is Tk210, 18-carat silver is Tk181, and traditional silver is Tk136 per gram.
