HungryNaki MD for developing a digital eco-system where all parties become benefited   Khondoker Tasfin Alam

We are strengthening our partnerships. As a leader, my ultimate vision is to create a digital eco-system, where all the parties involved become benefitted, rather than only focusing on making money.

Khondoker Tasfin Alam, Managing Director of HungryNaki, was telling these while responding to some queries.

The write-up has highlighted his endeavours, plans with HungryNaki and a few other issues.

Below is the full discussion with the young entrepreneur:

As you spearhead a thriving food delivery platform, what do you think are the key drivers for the growth of this industry going forward?

From the customer perspective, I think convenience is one of the main drivers that is attracting more traffic to the industry. Variety of services and availability of options are other core driving factors, too. Integration and adaptation of technology is reaching a mature phase in our country, which is another very positive driver for the food delivery platforms, since our services are basically digital. From the corporate perspective, we are consistently onboarding newer sellers and partners to augment our services. The spirit of partnership is enabling us to offer attractive price points to the customers. I think all these are functioning as effective catalysts for the growth of the industry.

Do you think there are scopes for infrastructural improvements in the country for HungryNaki and other market players to exercise more freedom and ease of operations?

If you notice the contemporary consumer trends, you will surely notice that more people are now being open to the idea of associating themselves with digital services. Hence, improving the digital infrastructure could turn out to be a solution for many problems. For instance, I think we could opt for a more advanced payment processing system with a blend of online and offline payment options. We are often rooting for a cashless society. Even if that seems a longshot, for now, we could definitely opt for a hybrid model. This will surely give more convenience to our customers, and we could leverage on the added traffic.

What about the ecommerce sector, in total?

We are aware that the ecommerce sector in Bangladesh has recently gone through a difficult phase. But we are in a recovery curve right now, and I think we could initiate and implement policies to eliminate the malpractices for good. On this note, I would say that raising awareness among the customers is also very important. Consumers should not remain susceptible to suspicious offers or such other devious baits. Organizations like Daraz Bangladesh has already set impressive benchmarks on this regard, and has earned trust through reliable services. We need more of such market players practicing positive ethical values. Ecommerce has the unique power to eliminate many social divides by creating universal grounds for all tiers of customers and sellers. We need more addressing of this power, and make collaboration our optimal strength.

Ideal leaders always bring with them a whole new set of objectives. What new visions and objectives do you bring to accelerate the journey of HungryNaki?

Given our growth rate and popularity, I would say that the objectives HungryNaki has been following so far has been very much on point. I would like to carry this onward, earning more trust and loyalty among our customers. This process isn’t easy, it takes a lot of time and team work. We would emphasize more on making our customers reassured. We are targeting to become the “customers’-choice” platform through incorporating the right skill sets among our resources. We are strengthening our partnerships. As a leader, my ultimate vision is to create a digital eco-system, where all the parties involved become benefitted, rather than only focusing on making money.
